College of Architectural Engineering of Qingdao Binhai University is developed from Civil Engineering Major of Academic Diplomas Education established in 1999. From 2004, it began to recruit 2 or 3 years students majoring in engineering cost. In 2005, approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Qingdao Binhai University was upgraded to an undergraduate university that is entitled to conferring bachelor’s degrees. The college started to provide civil engineering and engineering management courses for undergraduates in 2007, architecture courses in 2010 and architectural environment and energy application engineering courses in 2011. With the rapid development and for the sake of subject adjustment, Architecture Engineering Department (former of the college) was separated from College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering on July, 2013 and formed a new College of Architectural Engineering.

In recent years, the staff of College of Architectural Engineering have undertaken more than 10 college projects, including 1 item under National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Fund, 1 sub-project under National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 item under Shandong Social Science Fund Project, 2 items under Shandong Scientific Research Project in Colleges and Universities, and 1 item under Shandong Education Science "Twelfth Five-year" Plan Project. Two items under college project have been assumed and our scientific research funds are more than five hundred thousand RMB. Until now, the college has published nearly hundred academic papers, one academic monograph and 5 textbooks, achieved many prizes including one third prize in Shandong Teaching Achievements, one first, second and third prize in Outstanding Research Results of Shandong Education System respectively. And the college has always been encouraging and organizing students to set up new projects to participate in various international and domestic competitions, in which it has achieved 5 prizes. In the Practical Teaching Centre, there are 14 labs, Cement Test Laboratory, Pitch Laboratory, Concrete Performance Laboratory, Engineering Surveying Laboratory, Mechanic Laboratory, Geotechnical Laboratory, Structure Design Training Room, Engineering Cost Training Room, Building Environment Testing Laboratory, HVAC Laboratory, Building Model Studio, Building Model Training Room, Architectural Design Evaluation Training Room, Architectural Design Exhibition Room and one Construction Engineering Practice and Innovation Base as well. Covering more than 1500 square meters, with advanced laboratory equipments, instruments and complete training facilities, possessing experiment practice teaching system, and scientific and standardized management system, the center can satisfy more than 200 students at the same time to take experiments and practice teaching activities, etc. On the basis of teaching experiments, the related social services can be conducted. In order to improve the practical ability of students, relying on Wu Yue School Construction Company, a Construction Engineering Practice and Innovation Base has been established, where students can apply their knowledge into practice.

College of Architectural Engineering operates on the principle of people foremost, focusing on combination of strict management and humanistic care and putting great effort forth to lead every student to succeed. “All for students, for all students” is the college slogan. The college has always been trying all ways to set up a good platform to lead teachers and students to success, seeking and carrying out all-round cooperation with brother universities and scientific research with the form of “academic exchanges, cooperation and personnel exchange visits.” With joint efforts and wisdom, the college has become a type of application teaching college with the characteristic of "application of science and technology university", focusing on training more and more good students and citizens for the society, enjoying “good merits, good practice, good work and good innovation.”

There are four undergraduate programs in College of Architectural Engineering--- Architecture, Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Architectural Environment and Energy Application Engineering.
