Overview:

Architecture Major, an art subject, was set up in 2010, including the cultivation and edification of aesthetics, which can be called the architectural art. The major is designed to cultivate application talent with certain practical and basic ability, who are well-round in moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetical development, meet the requirement of regional economical construction and development and learn the standard, laws and regulations related to architecture design. Thus the students can work on the architecture design, urban planning design and real estate f255 design, management and advisory and other fields.

Objective

Architecture Major is designed to cultivate compound specialized talents, who are well-round in moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetical development, adapt to the requirement of regional construction and social development, master the basic theory, knowledge and design methods of architecture and receive the basic training as architects. The students will be able to work on the design, management and advisory of architecture design, urban design and other fields with basic Architectural knowledge and certain design ability.

Features

    1. The courses of Architecture Major fall into five parts, including the design basis, basic theory, computer and related knowledge, which form the teaching system trained from the aspects of basic knowledge, thinking method, design ability and operating skill with the other specialized optional courses and public optional courses. From the fifth semester on, two weeks in each term will be scheduled as design week to develop students’ design innovative thinking and ability.

     2. This major aims to satisfy students’ interest, select appropriate specialties, and achieve organic unity among personality, capability and specialty development in talent training. Theoretical teaching system and practical teaching system are organically combined through cooperating with enterprises to conduct course construction and practice base construction and cultivating teaching staff of full-time teachers and part-time teachers. Theoretical teaching system is constructed according to the schema of “basis+modules+diverse professional direction”, while practical teaching system is constructed by “practical training teaching + Graduation Project+ extracurricular cultural innovative practice of science and technology.”

Future Outlook

Applied architecture major will be achieved through continuous exploration and practice on the basis of investigation and research. So in order to adapt to the development trend of integrated architecture, planning and decoration home and abroad at present, the college will operate on the principle of education and the law of growth to cultivate the application talent majoring in architecture who can master the basic theory knowledge of architectural decoration and urban planning and other related disciplines with higher ability of computer drawing and rapid design.
